Tuesday February 1 progress
We started with a wooden board from Michaels, then added some castings made with alumilite black resin. The background is the Steampunk Background from Lablanche, then we added various gears and such and finally the mannequin form and the wings and crown. All were applied with Pentart Heavy Body Gel. We covered the whole piece with black gesso.
Materials Used:
Wood Board from Michaels 6" x 9"
Gears and crown mould by Finnabair
Alumilite Black Resin
LaBlanche Steampunk Background Mould
Stamperia Wings and Hearts mould (this is now retired and hard to find)
Pentart Heavy Body Gel and black gesso
February 6th Update:
We added a few castings from Mitform Castings, who are known for their steampunk metal embellishments. Then we painted the whole thing with Pentart Antique Copper paint and used the colors from the Pentart Patina Effect paint set to give it a beautiful patina look. We dry brushed a bit of white onto the wings to make them stand out more and added a little bit of brass was to those areas as well. Next we took Pentart Antiquing Gel and layered that in the background areas behind the angel to give it more contrast. Finally, we added Pentart Universal Cracking Primer Step 1 to the outside edge of the frame and will continue with step 2 on Thursday.
Materials:
Pentart Patina Effect Paint Set
White Paint
Pentart Brass Wax
Pentart Antiquing Gel Umber
